Desktop wallpapers of anatomy and histology
Surrounded by things we love -
anatomy and histology edition!
Because I like to surround myself with histology, anatomy, or whatever else I'm working on, and I'm guessing you might too, I created a few sets of digital DESKTOP WALLPAPERS for PC! Eeep!
For a little backstory, in 2022 I shared a handful of histology images every month that included a calendar. I just loved seeing all those pinks, purples, blues, magentas, and even black and white shuffle through on my PC desktop throughout the day. Plus, the calendar came in handy many times! When 2023 rolled around, I updated the HISTOLOGY calendars and created a set of ANATOMY images.
This year, I am providing the images without calendars. Scroll through them below and download your favorites! :D

There are so many beautiful micrographs - with the pinks and purples typical of H&E staining, alongside beautiful blues from a trichrome stain, or the golden and gray hues of silver or golgi stains. In this set of wallpapers, we'll see osteocytes, ovaries, liver lobules, the cerebellum, gastric mucosa, multiple presentations of bone, smears of blood cells, the renal cortex and medulla, appendix, salivary gland, skin, nerves, the esophagus, various cartilage, large intestine, vessel walls, neurons, connective tissues, lung, taste buds on the tongue, and good 'ol fat cells.

As with the histology micrographs, I've tried to include a variety of organs, tissues, regions, and otherwise beautiful images of anatomical structures. Many of the images in the anatomy set of wallpapers are from public domain. I love seeing these now “vintage” images come up! :D

Do you have a favorite? Is it an anatomical heart, an artistic heart, or a micrograph of heart tissue?! How will we decide?! Good thing we don't have to! Download the whole set or grab the few that you want to see regularly. Enjoy!
